The Dress and other news

We've been working on wedding details, and we're doing a good job of sticking with a laid back feeling so far and I hope we can keep true to that. I bought my dress yesterday : D and I love it... it's a great combo of all that I wanted; a vintage look, not just white (less traditional) and it has a fun shorter length (right in-line with the budget :). Justin's looking for a suit with a vintage style, too.

We're going to send out emails to a few people asking to make playlists for the after party dance music. Be on the look out for that!

Our friend, Luke, is going to officiate. He lives here in Chicago; a calm, wise soul.

We're going to do registries hopefully this week and we'll have more on that soon.

Save the Dates are coming, really.

What else... we'll be channeling our rural roots by having wildflowers and mason jars for center pieces.

Justin is still planning to look into group activities for the days before the ceremony, so if you are wondering when to come maybe consider including a little Chicago sightseeing Friday & Saturday.

Dank Haus

We have booked the after party site: Dank Haus German Cultural Center.
And dinner at The Grafton.

We're hoping that people can either take the train, cab or drive to the neighborhood where there's plenty of free parking, and everything is within walking distance!!!!

Hotels and other accomodations

It's been too long!

So we are finalizing hotel ideas. We were able to negotiate a price of $99 a night out by O'hare. We'll post that info soon. If you want to stay downtown, we suggest www.priceline.com or if you want to stay somewhere simple "Arlington House International Hostel" is an option, it's on the Northside and not far from the train.

Happy Holidays!

Hello all!

We have taken some time off from wedding planning, but we will start back up in the new year by booking the gazebo for the ceremony and starting to get the hotels figured out.

Chicago Ceremony Location

We've decided that we're having the wedding ceremony at Welles Park Gazebo right in our neighborhood! Go here for the interesting history of Welles Park. We might or might not have the tuba player at the wedding.... you'll have to wait and see!

The Deal-e-o

What we've decided to do for the blessed event is to have a small (fast) ceremony and dinner in Chicago with a small group then an after party with everyone and anyone. We then are going to have a South Dakota reception to celebrate with family who weren't able to travel to Chicago.

We're still working out the details with venues, but once we have that clear we'll get invitations out.

A Save the Date will be coming via email soon!

Hello!

Hello!
Welcome to the new JustineHQ blog! .

The news... Justin popped the question on Friday, and Christine said YES! This is the engagement ring, by Swiss artist Veto Schmuck (props to him).

The ring was originally picked out at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis but then was found at a local boutique in Chicago called Stitch (cheers to them!).

Justin's wedding band.

THE STORY:
Justin and Christine met in Sioux Falls, SD when they were 16 years old. They worked at Target together : D (still one of our favorite stores). They were friends, dated for a short period and then parted ways. Then 3-4 years later while Christine was working at the UofM Theatre Department she answered an email by a Justin Tvedt who was asking about an audition for a play. Christine wrote back answering his question and then asking if this was the Justin Tvedt from Sioux Falls. Of course, it was him! Justin and Christine met up before Justin moved to Minneapolis to transfer to UofM and before Christine headed off to Italy for a semester. They kept in contact by email until Christine returned.

Since 2001 the couple has supported each other through undergraduate careers, moving to a new city, grad school and taking a risk with new careers.
